The Hunter Army Airfield Barracks Modernization drawings were originally folded in half and used as folders to contain other drawings. The collection also includes drawings of unidentified buildings. Additionally, there are several drawings for buildings located elsewhere in Georgia and 27 drawings for buildings throughout Alabama, South Carolina, Florida, and Pennsylvania. While most of the drawings feature new construction on southern and eastern boundaries of Savannah, Georgia, the collection also includes materials for additions and improvements on several prominent buildings in Savannah's Historic District. The majority of the building plans include a number of drafts, including perspective sketches, foundation, floor, and wall plans, and notes and details, and the client is typically identified. The materials range in creation date from 1926 to 2001, and are broadly inclusive, featuring construction on private residences, military installations, offices and stores, churches, and public buildings. Grantham was active in a number of local organizations, including the Civitan Club and the Oglethorpe Club, and served in a professional capacity as the president of the Georgia chapter of the American Institute of Architects. With Helfrich, Grantham and Helfrich, Grantham both produced design plans for several of the mid-20th century Modern homes on Savannah's southern suburban periphery and participated in the restoration of buildings in the city's Historic District and Ardsley Park neighborhoods.
